Freezing lemon is not a big
deal, but what sounds interesting is that a frozen lemon has more benefits as
compare to a fresh one. You can freeze every part of lemon and can use it at
your convenient.
Lemons are rich in vitamin C,
citric acid, calcium, iron, fiber, copper, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and
vitamin B-complex. A frozen lemon helps to make your beverage and food a lot
smoother.
If you buy lemon for
freezing purpose select those one which are yellow and without any black or
white spots. Also you can remove the pesticide by cleaning then in a mixture of
fresh water and white vinegar.
When you need to use frozen
lemons place them in cold water for 10 to 15 minutes. Once defrosted you can
use them for juicing or as an ingredient in your recipes. Remember that once it
is defrosted it becomes very squishy and cannot be used for slicing. For slicing
purpose better use fresh lemon.
Lemons without the zest are
not supposed to be thrown away instead you can wrap them in aluminum foil and
put the foil in the freezer bag. Tuck the fruit nicely and use it later for
juicing. Even the lemon zest could also be frozen for later use.
Pour the fresh lemon juice
into ice cube tray and place it in the freezer. To make it more special add a
little mint leaf together with the lemon juice. Once it is frozen you can use
it for juicing or as an ingredient in your recipes. You can also use them as a
decoration in your parties.
